Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop DSP

Tonight’s topic for our Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop is sure to be a favourite! We are blogging about Designer Series Paper or DSP.

I am so in love with some of the amazing papers that are in the recently new annual catalogue and the holiday catalogue! If you would like to get your hands on a new catalogue please get in touch with me, otherwise you can view the online version here.

Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack is an absolute favourite of mine (although, I must confess I have more than just one favourite!)

I love how these paper stacks are already cut into 6 x 6 inch squares, ready to use on your next card project.

I managed to use one 6 x 6 inch square dsp to make 2 cards!

My second card, I used the leftover amount of DSP from my first card to create a similar card just with less use of the DSP.

I have always wanted to do a one sheet wonder. This is when you cut a 12 x 12 inch piece of DSP into smaller pieces to create 12 cards! If you ask me that is a really great way to add to your stash of cards. It’s a great option to have some cards on hand, you never know when you might need one.

I followed the instructions from World of JenCraft you can view her you tube video here.

I did make some adjustments to the measurements to match our card stock sizes. Instead of cutting the DSP to 5 1/2 inches I cut it to 5 7/8 inches. The rest from memory was kept the same.

Don’t you think these cards are just the cutest?

12 cards with one 12 x 12 sheet of DSP! And how great do they look?

I left some of the cards without a sentiment, perfect for those times that you need a card quick but don’t have the time to create one. Add a quick sentiment and you have a delightful card for someone special.

I used my wink of stella with my Berry Burst ink to colour in just a few areas on the stamped images on each card. I think it gives a nice highlight without over colouring in the images.

I am also using my favourite ribbon to embellish, the 1/8 inch sheer ribbon. This ties so beautifully and really completes the look of any card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I hope you enjoy blog hopping your way through our amazing teams blogs!

Next up is my amazing friend Kelly Kent. I love seeing what she has made, I hope you do too!

  1. I love the idea of the ‘one sheet wonder’ so many times I get stuck with not having the right sentiment appropriate cards sonòt stamping them until they are needed is a great tip Mandy thank you!

  2. Do you know, I’ve {NEVER} made cards using a one-sheet wonder pattern! You’ve inspired me to change that! Two fabulous projects for this month’s blog hop! Love seeing your work! Kelly x
