Today is Mother’s Day here in Australia. I was lucky enough to make two Mother’s Day cards, one for my Mum and one for my Mother in Law.
My Mum loves to cook, I always find her in the kitchen with her apron on. My Dad always says she makes a truckload of food…she is always giving me and the neighbours the extra food she makes! Lucky for me, I love her food and if I score a meal that means I don’t have to cook. It’s a win win!
I decided on the Apron of Love Bundle for my Mum.
To make this card I used some thick whisper white cardstock and embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I used some of the Picture Perfect Party DSP to cut out the Apron. I love the stitched shape framelits, they are so easy to incorporate on any card. I used the circle stitched shape to cut a circle out of Berry Burst cardstock. I snuck in a one of the pearlised doilies from the Gotta have it all Bundle which is on sale until the end of this month. To read about this bundle click here. I cut out some of the cooking utensils using the silver foil and the rolling pin using a scrap piece of crumbcake card stock. Some heat embossing using versamark and white embossing powder completed the sentiment, “Happy Mother’s Day” a stamp I got from the Your’e inspiring stamp set.
Next card was for my Mother in Law. She loves to spend time in her garden so this card seemed to be a good choice.
I used a Rich Razzleberry card stock as the base colour for this card. This seems to be my go to colour lately, it’s such a pretty colour! I used another embossing folder to create a background, Garden Trellis Embossing Folder. Stamped a pretty rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set using the memento ink then coloured in with my Stampin’ Blends. I added some leaves using the leaf punch before mounting the rose on top. There is no die cut for the rose, I just used my paper snips to fussy cut around the image.
I hope all the Mother’s had a lovely Mother’s Day today. I got lots of handmade cards and gifts from my kids and was delivered scrambled eggs in bed this morning.
Did you receive lots of handmade goodies this Mother’s Day? Handmade is always the best.
Catch ya next time,
