ESAD Blog Hop 2018 Annual Catalogue Launch

Hello and welcome to the ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Megan Lenske’s blog, welcome!

It’s a favourite time of the year when the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue is released. I’m really excited about this catalogue, its so bright and cheerful, featuring a new colour revamp with some favourite colours returning and some new colours in the mix too!

I truly could not decide on what to make for this blog hop. I love so many things in the new catalogue! I decided to go with the Rooted in Nature stamp set. This set immediately appealed to me, probably because I don’t have any tree stamps but also because it is a fantastic set to have in your stash for male cards! Often I struggle with masculine style cards but I find this set works well for those cards (It comes in a bundle with dies too, be sure to check that out! Buy them together you save 10%). Perfect bundle for many different occasions.

This card I decided to make in two colour ways, just to show off some of the different designer series paper. It’s funny, I never really used Tranquil Tide much before but I absolutely love this colour matched with the coordinating DSP. Inspiration for this card came from the new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalogue, let me know if you would like a hardcopy or alternatively you can view the online version by clicking here.

The first step to make this card was to make a water colour background on some Shimmery White card stock (you could also use watercolour paper but for this card I was happy with Shimmery White). I started with some mint macaron ink picked up some ink with an aqua painter and lightly painted the background. I wanted my colour wash light so I added lots of water. Next I added the Tranquil Tide colour blending it in slightly with the Mint Macaron. Finally, I used some Soft Suede ink to create the ground.

I waited for this to dry completely before stamping the tree and the sentiment. For the tree, I inked up the stamp using soft suede and spritzed with a water spritzer, a couple of times to so that the stamp was slightly wet. This, when stamped, created a beautiful watercolour look on the card. I then stamped the sentiment, which I love, personally I love uplifting quotes and “You are Wonderful” is really lovely on a card to give to someone special.

The card base is stamped with a stamp from the same set, just to add some more interest to the card. I off set the DSP then added the shimmery white watercoloured piece I made earlier. I am loving my leaf punch at the moment, with the matching coloured card stock plus a piece of vellum. I love love love the true gentleman buttons as embellishments with some linen thread. Use a glue dot to put together and your card is done!

How nice do these look? Which colour is your favourite?

Colour combinations are endless with this set! I am so in love with the button on this card. The perfect embellishment!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog today. I hope you enjoy hopping through this blog hop to see what other fantastic creations have been made by a wonderful bunch of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. I hope you will be just as excited as I am with the new catalogue and all the new products!

Next up on the blog hop is Bronwyn Eastley, I can’t wait to see what she has created for us. Click on the next button below!

Ciao for now,

  3. These are gorgeous, Mandy. You know I’m pretty partial to Rich Razzleberry so I’ll pick that as my fave if you twist my arm. There are so many elements to these cards but it all comes together perfectly. Fabulous!
