This month’s theme is using a photo for inspiration. This amazing photo was taken by my lovely friend Siobhan Fitzsimmons.
Now this is one spectacular photo! It reminds me of last year when I visited the Nannup Tulip Festival and I was lucky enough to capture this photo….
It’s amazing how similar the colours are! I love bees! We have plenty that visit our garden and if I ever see one struggling in nature I always help them out. Such beautiful insects. I love them.
The card I have made today, features two bees and some flowers from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set. This set is one of my all time favourites.
I used Sahara Sand as a card base and used the leaf embossing die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. I thought the honeycomb embossing folder worked for this theme with some Lovely Lipstick flowers and Old Olive leaves. Anyone who knows me knows I love the leaf punch so I have used that on this card too with some vellum to create some soft extra layering.
Lately I have been using my fine metallic thread to add a little extra something to my cards. This card is no exception, I have used some gold metallic thread behind one of my friendly bees. I also couldn’t resist placing a gold faceted gem to the centre of one of the flowers. These are super pretty and sparkly!
I jumped in on this blog hop last minute and I am so glad that I did. I’m happy with my efforts coming up with something using this lovely photo inspiration.

Mandy your card design is AMAZING ❤ Oh so eclectic is such a favourite suite of mine too.
I made many cards with it last yeat BUT not a one this year yet!!! I may just have to case your card if that is OK? Thank you for allowing me to design something special for your team hop this month, I had so much fun ❤

Stunning, Mandy, I love this. The background embossing is beautiful. I love the colours and those sweet bees. I love your tulip photo – excellent timing with the bee. Every year I mean to take my camera on a date to the tulip festival at Araluen but never get there. I really must do it this Spring.

Your card is beautiful! So many elements to love in their own right, and then all together – WOW! Your bees are gorgeous, the embossed leaves look elegant and the honeycomb texture suits the card perfectly!

Please tell me how you did the bees. Are they fussy cut? What colors of paper and ink did you use? Need to make bees for wedding favors. Thanks.

Yes the bees have been fussy cut, I just stamped crushed curry and memento black ink for the bees on some scrap whisper white cardstock. I hope that helps.

Yes the Stamp set, Naturally Eclectic is a fave of mine too. I loved the contemporary look of the flowers. Gorgeous colours you’ve chosen Mandy.
