Today’s blog post is a little bit exciting, it is my very first time joining the “Enjoy the little things in life – Design Team Video Blog Hop”. That’s right! This is going to be a video blog hop! I have never done a video before, so this could turn out two ways…it could be absolutely AMAZING or it could just be AMAZING! Either way, I just know it’s going to be something great and I hope you will too.
Being a part of the Enjoy the little things in life – Design Team Video Blog Hop we aim to give you inspiration once a month that will help you to be more creative along with great ideas, tips and techniques included in our videos. We have an incredibly talented team of demonstrators from around the world that are part of this hop.
This month’s theme is Masculine using new products. Masculine cards are often a challenge but they don’t have to be! They are often easier as they are simpler in my opinion. However, that doesn’t mean that it comes easy to me. I often tend to over think things!
To create this card, I have used Tranquil Tide and Crumb Cake Card stock. The effect of the embossing is done with adding some ink from my Crumbcake ink pad to my Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder then running it through the big shot. I love the look of this back ground. The inking on the embossing folder gives the back ground some more texture and definition.
Stamping a waterfront scene with the Waterfront stamp set is easy and fun to do. I used the Nature’s Roots Framelits to cut and emboss the copper leaves. Don’t forget you can buy the Rooted in Nature stamp set and dies as a bundle and you save 10%. What a fantastic effect! I love to add bling and embellishments to cards but when the theme is for a male, copper foil leaves was the best bling I could do teamed up with some copper trim I think this card is a winner for a masculine birthday!
