Paper Adventures Team Hop – CAS Clean and Simple

It’s that time of the month again when the Paper Adventures Team get together with a Guest Designer and blog about a chosen theme. This month’s theme is “Clean and Simple”. Sometimes I feel that I try to over complicate things or designs and sometimes a clean and simple design is all that is needed for a beautiful handmade card. I always love looking at other people’s ideas for cards, this blog hop is sure not to disappoint with our wonderful Kim Oliver as this month’s guest designer. Welcome Kim! Thanks for hopping along with us.

Who says a Christmas card needs to be red and green? I am going with the clean and simple approach on this card and just using Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla colours. Nice and simple. Ooooo look at that shimmer!

I used my Stamparatus to line the trees up on this card. Firstly I stamped the trees using tranquil tide ink and a stamp from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set. I then used a sponge dauber and the champagne shimmer paint to cover the tree stamp. The Stamparatus makes it easy to line up the secondary stamping over the top of the already stamped trees. The shimmer paint gives a nice shine and shimmer look to the card when the light catches it. Perfect for Christmas Trees don’t you think? Off stamping the ink before stamping again made the lighter trees on the piece of card to create a more realistic scene.

I embossed and cut out some leaves from the Nature’s Roots Framelits and I couldn’t resist but to add some more shimmer paint to these leaves with my sponge dauber. This shimmer paint is just so much fun to use! Comes in 4 colours, white, champagne, copper and gold. I just can’t wait to use them all. I love my leaf punch so I punched some vellum leaves. In true Mandy style I couldn’t stop there, so I added a silver leaf from the leaves trinkets embellishments and a bow using the braided linen trim….I just love that stuff! A new very versatile favourite!

The “Merry Christmas” sentiment is from the Half Full stamp set.

I love the simple and clean look of this card and I hope you do too. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the team’s creations and get some inspiration for your own card projects. Be sure to click on the next button below.

  1. Shimmery perfection! I love the simple colour palette and how how you’ve really made it sing with the shimmer paint. And that little bunch of leaves in the corner is a gorgeous little Mandy touch. Beautiful card!
