Paper adventures team blog hop inspired by fashion

Welcome to the April edition of the Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop. This month we are joined by guest designer Emma Goddard! Emma makes some amazing projects so I can’t wait to see what she has made to show us using this theme.

I’m not big on fashion, lately I have just been wearing my denim shorts and my favourite flannellette shirt…such a bogan haha! However, I do own some lovely dresses in my favourite colours that I decided to use as inspiration for this blog hop.

One of my favourite colours is navy so it is not uncommon for me to wear navy floral dresses.

For my card, I used the colours Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum (so sad Sweet Sugarplum has retired but with new in colours on the way soon I am hopeful for a nice dusty rose colour!)

To create this card, I used one of my favourite stamp sets (I have lots of favourites!), Petal Palette. I love watercolouring so I decided to heat emboss in white and use my aqua painters to colour in my main flower piece. The leaves are from the Rooted in Nature stamp set (a must have set in my opinion), inked with sahara sand, stamped off, then stamped lightly and watercoloured using Pear Pizzazz. Some extra flowers were stamped and cut out with the matching dies to create the same cluster of little flowers on my dress.

My dress has a gold zip so I decided to add some gold thread and a gold trim ribbon to finish it off.

It just goes to show inspiration is all around us. What will be your inspiration for your next card project?

Next up is my lovely friend Narelle, click on the next button below to see what fashion inspired project she has made to show us!

  1. This is so very you – gorgeous and stylish! I love the translation from dress pattern to pretty card. The use of more than one stamp set gives a great finish. Kelly x

  2. Loved your card Mandy….lovely translation from cloth to paper. The flowers are very delicate….a great technique which gives a softness to the flowers. I don’t see any bogan in this card Mandy!
