Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Trick or Treat

Hello Stamping Friends! Gosh it has been a while since I have blogged anything, life has just got in the way a bit. Why does life have to be so crazy?! Last month I travelled to New York for my day job as a Travel Consultant. I spent 4 nights in New York before joining the Regal Princess Cruise to Canada and New England. This trip set me back a bit and now I am busy trying to catch up on my crafting orders. It is the price you pay for my jobs perks!

I couldn’t resist joining in on the Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop this month. The theme is Trick or Treat. I would like to give a very warm welcome to Mr Brian King who is joining us this month as our Guest Designer. Thanks for hopping along with us Brian!

We don’t really celebrate Halloween much here in Australia, but my kids do like to dress up and hassle the neighbours for some lollies and chocolates! I don’t have any current Halloween sets (I have something on the way but it hasn’t arrived just yet!) so I had to think outside the box on what I was going to make for this team blog hop.

I came up with some creative punch art, something I have not done much of before.

To create my cute little spider, I punched his body out using the Snowman Builder Punch with some basic black cardstock. I then cut off what I didn’t need so I was left with a body and a head for my spider. For my spiders legs, I cut out the snowman’s arms using black cardstock and trimmed these down and folded them so they looked more like spiders legs.

The owl punch (retired) came in handy for the circles for my spiders eyes. That is all there is to it! One rather cute and not so spooky spider for Halloween!

I added some of the Monster Bash DSP to a pizza box that I coloured using a re inker and a Stampin’ Spritzer mixed with Isocol alcohol. You can find this at the supermarkets here in Australia. I simply added about 10 drops of re inker into a stampin’ spritzer and filled with the Isocol. Give a good shake then spray all over your pizza box and leave to dry.

Once dry, you are ready to mount your DSP and cute spider to your pizza box. I added a “Trick or Treat” sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, embossed with some shimmer black embossing powder (of course!) and cut out with the Classic Label Punch.

This little box wouldn’t be complete without some chocolates inside….I have a feeling that this little box is going to be claimed by a little someone in this house before Halloween!
