Perth Onstage 2019

What a weekend! Perth Onstage 2019 did not disappoint. This Onstage event was my 5th one, and I must say the more you go to the more people remember you and the more friends you make!

This Onstage event was a little bit more special (and a bit more daunting) for me this year. In September, when I was in Dubai on my way to New York, I was asked by the lovely Donna Williams from Stampin’ Up if I wanted to present on stage, ON THE STAGE like in front of all the cameras and lights! Now anyone that knows me, knows I am not shy when it comes to getting up on stage to belt out a karaoke tune but never have I ever presented new products in front of an entire room of people before!

How did I do? Well I nailed it! Thank goodness because my rehearsal in the room the day before was terrible, I had a fly buzzing around my head and I lost my train of thoughts and finished way too early! Thankfully that was just the rehearsal and the cocktail that night a $10 special passionfruit margarita did the trick to settle my nerves!

This cocktail was so strong it knocked me out for a good nights sleep! I woke up and I thought to myself….you can do this Mandy! And that is exactly what I did.

Look at that! My name on the big screen. Woohoo!

So what did I have to do? I was lucky enough to be sent an awesome suite to present, a new suite becoming available to customers 3 January 2020. I received my box of Stampin’ Up! goodies after I returned home from the US late September. Then the race was on to complete my samples and put together a presentation. A few rehearsals later I was ready to show my fellow demonstrators how awesome the Parisian Blossoms Suite is.

The Parisian Blossoms designer series paper comes in 12 sheets of 12 x 12 paper. 4 designs have Champagne Foil accents on them and it is just gorgeous!

Isn’t it just lovely? This suite consists of the Parisian Beauty Cling Stamp Set and the Forever Blossoms Cling Stamp Set. Stunning colours of Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler and Petal Pink. I couldn’t help but to add a card in the mix using Night of Navy cardstock with the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set. The best bit? This Suite coordinates with Champagne Shimmer Paint and I love Champagne Shimmer Paint!!!

I had loads of fun adding Champagne Shimmer Paint to my samples. An easy way to add more sparkle is a sponge dauber dipped in the paint and in a circular motion, I added some paint to my embossed cardstock. Another example of use of the paint was to add some drops of paint into a Stampin’ Spritzer and fill with Isocol Alcohol. Give a good shake and spray it everywhere! I also used the shimmer paint sponged over the “Amour” sentiment die cut to give it a more subtle finish.

My presentation included 3 designs using this suite for three different levels of crafting. Beginner, Casual and Avid levels. For the beginner stamper, I have used just ink, stamps and paper. For the casual crafter, I stepped this sample up by adding some DSP, some blends and a punch. And for the avid crafter, I have combined all the products because avid crafters just love all the things!

This onstage was focusing on ‘celebrations”. I learnt that in life we need to celebrate not only the big stuff in life but also the small stuff. This card I gave to my lovely upline Kelly Kent, to show my appreciation and to celebrate my journey with Stampin’ Up! so far.

Me with Kelly Kent.

This suite is perfect for those scrapbooking layouts!

Even though I was busy planning for my Onstage presentation, I still had some time to make swaps. I love making swaps and swapping with others. Not only does it give me ideas and inspiration but I love meeting new faces and I especially love it when people tell me it is their first onstage event. Such an exciting time when it is your first time!

I made holders for some freddos and caramello koalas but little did I know it was going to be 38 degrees! Not the best weather for chocolate swaps! To make these I simply cut some of the Follow you Art DSP in 6″ x 2″ and scored at 4″ and 4 1/4″. I used the It Starts with Art stamp set and dies to embellish.

I also made some team swaps and some extras to give out to some special friends I have made along the way.

Pool Party and Petal Pink little boxes were made using Bird Ballard DSP and the Just for You sentiment is out of the Meant to Be Stamp Set. To make this cute little box I followed the instructions from another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the US called The Paper Pixie Julie DiMatteo. You can view Julie video by clicking here.

Then filled with some Onstage treats! I am so grateful that these wonderful people are my friends. Whether they like it or not! Haha!!

So grateful I had a lovely room mate to share with too. So many laughs and such a great time! Thanks Robyn for being a great roomie!

This upcoming catalogue is a cracker and I can’t wait to share it all with you. Or perhaps you would like to know more about joining onstage so you too can join in on all the fun we have together and receive a discount on your crafting supplies! Contact me for more details on how you can join the team!

I love the buzz of Onstage. I just want to share this experience with everyone so tell me, “Have your ever thought about joining up?” I am so glad I did!

Well that is all from me, I am off to drool over the new catalogue I received.

Catch you next time,

Mandy x
