Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop Pootles

This month we have a very special guest designer joining us, Sam Hammond Donald aka Pootles! Sam is a very well known Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the UK and has reached her $1 million in sales. What a remarkable achievement! Well done Sam. If you are joining my blog for the first time today, welcome, I am so happy to have you here.

So this month’s theme was a CASE (copy and share everything) design of Sam’s and she created this fun card…

The rules were quite loose, we could CASE colours, layout, designer series paper (DSP), create a fancy fold or a 3D object as long as we used some inspiration from this card.

I decided to CASE the layout and the colours used. I love the simplicity of this layout. Sometimes you just need a quick card or one that shows off our beautiful DSP. Except…. most of the time my cards are not quick but I can’t help it. I just love to embellish!

One of my favourites in the mini catalogue at the moment is the dressed to impress bundle.

I love the femininity of this stamp bundle. My Mum loves perfume and lipstick so this set was just perfect for her Mother’s Day Card this year. Even though Mother’s Day is not until May, I wanted to get in early and show off this beautiful set.

I used my favourite piece of the DSP in the bundle, stamped a perfume bottle with memento black ink and petal pink and I coloured the lid of my perfume bottle using dark petal pink blend marker. I added some flowers, coloured also with my blends, lovely lipstick (light and dark combo) and light old olive. Some white bakers twine, rhinestones and a sentiment from the stamp set to finish it off. The sentiment is cut out using a die from this bundle. Pretty right?

I also decorated the inside of the card with some lipstick and a flower. You probably can’t see from the photos but I also added some wink of stella to the perfume bottle, flowers and lipstick. Just to add a bit of sparkle! This card is all ready to give to my Mum on Mother’s Day.

I enjoyed making this card during the week, my craft room is a great place to escape from all the craziness happening around the world at the moment. I hope you have enjoyed my card today, please be sure to click on the next button below to see what Lisa and the rest of the team have made using Sam’s card as inspiration.

Keep on crafting…safer during social distancing,

Mandy x

  1. Gorgeous card Mandy! There’s just something so lovely about that DSP. The perfume bottle is my fave stamp from that set. I love how you’ve put it all together. Kelly x
