Social Stamping Hello from Mandy

Social distancing is not my friend but social stamping is! Welcome to my blog today. A bunch of fellow stamping friends have got together to share what we love to do and what better time to do it while we are all staying home. A special thanks to my lovely upline Kelly Kent from My Papercraft Journey for putting this together, a great idea for us all while we are mostly isolated at home!

The theme today is hello. I liked this theme because I wanted to send some cards to people just to be able to brighten someone’s day. A hello card seemed perfect for the moment without the need to visit because we are all keeping our distance doing our bit to flatten the curve and get rid of this dreaded Covid-19.

So I decided to use our Whisper White note cards and envelopes to make a bunch of cards to send to people.

These note cards are the perfect size to make some gorgeous cards without it taking too long. I decided to do three different themed hello cards.

I used the Beauty Abounds stamp set to make these cards using Smoky Slate, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy colours. Most of the design is just simple stamping, but as usual, I can’t help but to embellish a bit with some die cut outs of butterflies. The butterflies are die cut out of whisper white card stock and then sponged with their coordinating colours to match the card. I also cut a cute little flower using the Small Bloom Punch (yours free until end of March 2020 with a qualifying order). I also used the same stamp set to stamp on the envelopes. Got to love a bit of matchy matchy!

My next set of cards was using the Free as a Bird Stamp set. This is one of my favourites. I just love these little birds on their branch and lately, as I have had more time on my hands, I have been sitting outside watching the little birds in my garden. It is quite relaxing and makes me realise that even though there are awful things happening out in the world, with a virus I cannot see, we still have many moments in our day that are wonderful. Just like these little birds. I have used my blends to colour in these using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy. Mostly simple stamping here too, with a fussy cut out flower and some linen thread. Simple but pretty!

And for a bit of fun, my last set of cards is a brighter version using the sweet Little Ladybug stamp set, available free to any orders over AUD$500.

I used the coordinating dies with these cards. Coloured with Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch and Call me Clover Blends. I decorated the envelopes on the front and back for a little bit more of added fun!

I hope these cards have brightened your day, I will be sending these out to people to hopefully put a smile on their faces during these unprecedented times. When I am not crafting and busy home schooling the kids, I will be outside on my patio watching the little birds in the garden.
