Hello! Tonight’s Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop theme is a colour combination, a colour combo that was inspired by Kelly Kent’s new pegs that she bought. I had to have a giggle about this, a blog hop inspired by pegs! But it just goes to show that colour inspirations can be anywhere, even in your own backyard. We also have Guest Designer, Jenny Hayward joining us this month. Welcome Jenny! I can’t wait to see what you have made using these colours.
Now I am going to admit here, my strength is not colour combos. I struggled a bit with this one and I am not 100% sure that I even like this card. But I am going to show it to you anyway and let you tell me what you think. Sometimes we are too quick to judge ourselves and are far too critical. This card may not be my usual type of style, but given it was a colour challenge, I think I have certainly fulfilled the requirement.
So here are the colours and the pegs!
I actually really like these colours together, I decided to use the Beautiful Friendship stamp set and this is what I came up with.
I used a piece of whisper white card stock and I embossed it with the subtle embossing folder. I love this embossing folder, I have been using it lately to create some of my cards. I stamped a background using the large flower stamp from the set, this was second generation stamping (I stamped off on a piece of scrap paper) before stamping onto my card. I stamped some of the smaller flowers and leaves then fussy cut them out.
I chose a happy birthday sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set. I stamped this in versamark ink and used my white embossing powder to heat emboss. I was just going to fussy cut this out but instead I decided to use my classic label punch instead. Some rhinestones and white bakers twine for a bow completes the front of this card with some simple stamping on the inside.
So there you go, colour challenge complete. I am looking forward to drawing some inspiration from the team on this one. Click on the next button below to check out what everyone else has made using these peg colours!
Until next time, stay calm and craft on,
Mandy x

Ahh, you are too hard on yourself, this is lovely and a fabulous way to use the challenge colours! With the retirement list coming out soon, they have to keep the Subtle folder!! I think I’ll cry if they don’t! Kelly x
