Social Stamping

Social Stamping was cancelled last week after the announcement of a 5 day lock down in the Perth, Peel and South West Region following a positive covid19 test. Cafes were closed and we were ordered to stay home with mandatory mask wearing if we had to go out for essential circumstances. Thankfully, we did not have any more positive cases so life is able to return back to pre lock down normal for us here in the South West of WA. A few more restrictions are still in place for the Perth and Peel region for a week longer. So with the last minute notice of the 5 day lock down last Sunday, we had to cancel our first Social Stamping session at the Taste of Dalyellup last Monday.

Yesterday, we were able to resume our crafting sessions at the cafe. I had everything all prepped ready for last week so I was good to go!

SWEET STRAWBERRY BUNDLE (ENGLISH)
Sweet Strawberry Bundle is a fun set to work with.

The Sweet Strawberry bundle was my first choice for a card, this bundle is sweet but also simple to use with the punch included. Lots of people enjoy crafting with punches as they make it just so easy, you can easily craft at your desk without needing to get up and move about to use die cutting machines.

A quick tip to share with this card is how to line up your stamps on your block so you can stamp and punch out easily. I used a scrap piece of cardstock to punch out the images, then I used the negative of the cardstock to line up my stamps. Then simply press down so they stick onto your block.

We used sponge daubers to ink up the strawberries, leaves and flower. This stamp set uses the two step stamping technique so there is no need for any colouring techniques, just use your ink pads. I used colours Real Red, Granny Apple Green and So Saffron with outlines in Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight for my strawberry, leaves and flower. Another handy punch, the Everyday Label Punch, was used to punch out the sentiment from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. Some background stamping in Granny Apple Green onto the card base then just simply put it altogether.

This is an easy variation card fold, with a 1 1/4″ score line folded back on itself for the front. This is a great option to show 2 different types of coordinating DSP. This paper is from the Berry Blessings Bundle which comes as a free Sale-a-bration item when you purchase AUD$180 worth of products valid until 28 February 2021. You will receive a pack of the gorgeous berry paper and the photopolymer stamp set, Berry Blessings.

A cute rhinestone completes the middle of the flower. Lets not forget some stamping on the envelope. All Social Stamping kits come with an envelope for you to stamp/decorate how you like. You can use my example as inspiration or like some others do, create their own look instead. The choice is yours!

The second card we made was inspired by Valentine’s Day but an alternative option was provided for those not wanting to add a Valentine’s/Anniversary/Love type card to their stash.

I love that Stampin’ Up! have added a cute Kangaroo stamp set to their range. The Kangaroo and Company Bundle was high on my list of must haves after the Snailed it bundle.

KANGAROO & COMPANY BUNDLE
Kangaroo and Company Bundle

There is lots of fun to be had with this stamp set and dies bundle including an interactive element. The die that cuts out the large kangaroo, also cuts the pouch to allow for different options to be placed inside the mother kangaroo’s pouch including the joey, presents, hearts letter or flowers.

For my Valentine’s or Anniversary themed card, I have used Real Red and White card stock. The white is embossed using the Scripty 3D embossing folder. The hearts are cut using the Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies. I have kept some of the hearts that it cuts out to use as embellishments.

For the sentiment, I have used the masking technique to mask out the word “hi” off the stamp. I just wanted my stamp to say just hopping by just to say… and then that is where the interaction comes in on the card. Pull up the hearts and your sweet message is revealed.

The speech bubble die is from the Snailed it Bundle

As an alternative to a love themed card, I included the choice of a birthday themed card instead. Simply stamp some flowers and butterflies instead of hearts and die cut the word ‘birthday’ from the Well Said Bundle.

There is something special about interactive cards, so much fun! Don’t you think?
