February is all about love this month, I have been creating lots of cards with love hearts. Hearts just happens to be our theme for our Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop. I would like to extend a very warm Paper Adventures welcome to Leonie Stuart who is our Guest Designer this month. So happy you could join us Leonie!
Last Saturday we were invited to an Engagement Party which actually turned out to be a Wedding! I must admit I had high suspicion that this would be the case but it was a wonderful surprise nonetheless. The weather was perfect, the location was fabulous, food was delicious and it was wonderful to celebrate with the happy couple. I have never been to a surprise wedding before so it was something new for me.
For the Engagement ummm Wedding Card, I used Basic Black Card stock paired with the gorgeous True Love DSP from the current mini catalogue. This pack of 12 x 12 paper is packed with just black and white themed paper which means you can add colour if you want to. I choose to keep my flowers and leaves black and white and they are fussy cut out.
Even though, I wanted most of this card to be black and white, I also wanted a pop of colour. The Love You Always Foil Sheets just gave that pop of colour I was looking for. I love using foil, this pack comes with six sheets of three colours (2 sheets of each colour included), Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose.
I love any dies with stitching on them so I used the Be Mine Framelits. Not only does this die cut out the scalloped outline as well as the heart. I have separated the two to make two love hearts which to me, (without sounding like an English essay) represented the love of two people coming together.
I love the sentiments in the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. Always and Forever seemed just perfect stamped on some basic black card stock and embossed in white. I have added some retired rose metallic thread just because it looks amazing with a bit of thread behind the flowers.
The middle sentiment, also from the Forever Blossoms stamp set, worked well for this happy occasion. I added a small foil heart to the inside and also to the outside of the envelope just so everything matched nicely. On the envelope, inside the stitched heart is where I wrote the new Bride and Groom’s name.
I also created a cute little envelope out of the Love you Always 12 x 12 DSP. This paper is SO GORGEOUS! I used the retired envelope punch board to make a 3″ x 4″ envelope. This was so we could put money inside but this would also work well with a voucher.
I was so happy to be at this wonderful couple’s wedding. I wish them all the best for their future together.
I hope that my blog today fills you up with love, be sure to click on the next button below see what other heart projects the rest of the team have created. Next up is the lovely Siobhan. I always look forward to her creations.
Much love,
Mandy x

I love the way the black and white goes with the foil – such a striking combo. Those fussy-cut flowers are beautiful. The envelope on the inside idea is brilliant! I’ll definitely use that idea! 🙂 Siobhan.
