Make a card, send a card

Reaching a milestone of any kind deserves the thought of a handmade card, actually every occasion deserves a handmade card! Today’s card is for my previous employer who has retired from the travel industry. She has enjoyed a successful career in her lifetime and now the time has come for her to relax and enjoy the next chapter of her life.

I made this card with relaxation in mind. Perhaps spending some time sitting on a chair in the garden. Although from what I am told from people I meet that are already retired is that they find themselves busy as ever and wonder how they ever found the time to even go to work! I guess the difference is that you might find yourself doing lots of different things without the distraction of work or owning a business.

I used Coastal Cabana, Berry Burst, Soft Suede and Crumb cake colours to make this card along with some gorgeous copper foil. I am absolutely loving using my foil sheets lately with the Well Said Bundle. So much versatility with this bundle. If there is a sentiment only bundle you are chasing this is the one to have. It pairs up just so beautifully with any card.

The sweet addition with the little wooden heart on this card came from the Frames Elements embellishments. I love to add texture and dimension to my projects and this complemented this card perfectly.

The layout of this card was inspired by the current Occasions catalogue. Recently, I attended a Demonstrator Retreat Day in Perth with some of my demonstrator friends. We spent the day together crafting, making 8 cards or projects that we had CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) from either the Annual Catalogue or the Occasions catalogue.

I am not the best person to CASE cards, I tend to go off in my own little world of creativity and make up my own designs. I did however manage to complete this task with the above card. I loved the layout mostly, those rectangular framelits are perfect for all your cards! The Well Said Bundle is high on my rotation list at the moment, providing the perfect dies to use with my copper foil.

The only thing I struggled to work out on this CASEd card was where they had used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the products list. I had no idea but I could only just see some small dots on the card. I decided to use glue dots and sprinkle the dazzling diamonds glitter over the top. I realised after that I had neglected to see that there is actually a dots stamp in the Incredible like you stamp set stamped with Pool Party ink (Insert eye roll here). It didn’t worry me as I created a new way to add some glitter to my cards, just add a glue dot and sprinkle the glitter over the top! Worked a treat. I hope you can spot them in the photo above. I still to this day, have absolutely no idea where they used the dazzling diamonds glitter on the card in the catalogue. Make it your own I say!

I couldn’t help myself but to add some matching stamping to the envelopes. How amazing do they look? I am loving this beautiful layout.

These two cards were given out this weekend. How long has it been since you made a card and sent it? I challenge you to #makeacardsendacard today! It will not only brighten the recipients day but it will also brighten yours. I guarantee it!

I hope you enjoy your week to come and remember to put some time aside to make a card and send it to someone special.

Thanks for stopping by today.
